Description

Reg's ideal home

Little Reg is looking for a calm home with a predictable routine to help build his confidence and become a loving member of your family. Although he can be a bit worried initially, Reg comes out of his shell once he has a relationship with you. Because of this, Reg needs to live with children aged 12 years or older, who will understand to give him space when needed. Reg can share his home with another calm dog and would benefit with walking buddies when out and about to help further build his confidence. With limited distractions, Reg is able to focus on training, and already knows his name, sit, and how to walk nicely on the lead. Reg adores human company when he has a relationship with you, so needs adopters who are around for most of the day. Reg will need to meet his adopters multiple times to build a strong bond prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.

Could you be Reg's perfect match?

Reg is a 2 and a half year old Dachshund who is the most snuggly boy once he gets to know you! He’s a sensitive soul, and will need adopters who are willing to build his confidence and teach him skills to help realise the world isn’t a big scary place. Reg’s favourite place is on his favourite humans lap, and he will make a loyal friend for life.

Buying Checklist

Dachshund Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Dachshund.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
