About This Dog for Adoption
Captain's ideal home
Meet Captain – your loyal, easygoing companion!
Captain is looking for a moderate to active household where he can enjoy regular walks and plenty of interaction. He’s a confident boy who copes brilliantly in busy environments, stays calm around traffic, and settles beautifully indoors.
Captain has shown wonderful manners with children of all ages—from babies and toddlers to primary school-aged kids—displaying relaxed, positive behaviour. He’s a friendly soul who loves meeting new people, though he may greet with an enthusiastic jump, so a little guidance will help him shine even more.
Polite and calm when meeting other dogs, Captain could happily share his home with another canine friend after successful introductions.
Captain is ready to bring joy, companionship, and a sense of adventure to his new family—could that be you?
Could you be Captain's perfect match?
Meet Captain – a charming one-year-old Dachshund Crossbreed ready to steal your heart! Captain came into our care through no fault of his own after his previous owners’ circumstances changed.
He’s a wonderful mix of affectionate and adventurous—calm and cuddly at home, yet full of energy and excitement outdoors. Captain is instantly friendly with new people and dogs, making him a joy to be around.
In foster care, he’s been incredibly relaxed indoors, loves affection, and happily snoozes through the night on the foster carer’s bed. He’s a quiet boy who rarely vocalises, adding to his easygoing nature.
He enjoys long walks and, while he may pull slightly on the lead, he’s very manageable. Captain has been fully housetrained in foster care (apart from a little initial scent marking) and already knows his basic commands: sit, down, and recall—what a clever pup!
Travel is no problem for Captain—he loves car rides, prefers the back seat, settles quietly, and lies down comfortably. He’s unfazed by passing traffic, showing just how confident and adaptable he is.
Captain has previously coped well when left for up to three hours in foster care, but leaving times should be built up gradually once he’s settled into his new home.
