About This Dog for Adoption

Veggie's ideal home

Meet our second gorgeous, bald boy, Veggie! Veggie is a 2-year old Dachshund looking for his forever home with his bestie, Ronnie! Veggie is nervous meeting new people at first, so will need adopters to go slow and understand his body language & when he needs some space. For this reason, Veggie is looking for a home where all children are 14yrs+ and able to give him space when he needs it. Veggie is also quite worried of other dogs, so is unable to live with a resident dog in the home (besides Veggie of course!).
Once you've entered the besties club with Veggie, he's incredibly friendly and loves a cuddle and a fuss. He's the less confident of the duo, so he may need a bit more time to come around, but he is a very sweet and affectionate boy. Ronnie and Veggie are very much reliant on each-other, and closely bonded. We will oftentimes find them curled up together in their bed!
In typical Daxi style, they are both quite vocal when out and about and seeing other dogs. This may need a little work, so an understanding, loving and patient family would be best suited for this gorgeous duo!
We can't wait to see these boys curled up together on their forever sofa!

Could you be Veggie's perfect match?

Ronnie and Veggie are under-confident and under-socialised, so will need an understanding family that are willing to give them the time and patience they will need to come around in their new home. Veggie travels well in the car and can be left for up to 4 hours in his new home once this has been built up, but has known to be quite vocal.
Veggie has been quite worried in the vets, especially by formal handling and restraint. It may be beneficial for him to get to know his future vets to build that bond, but may potentially need to be muzzled if he is uncomfortable.
On walks, Veggie does tend to pull, but being a small boy and foodie, we think he'll pick up loose-lead-walking in no time! He may need a bit of reminding with his house-training in his new place of residence, but with a bit of structure, he will be golden.
Ronnie and Veggie are looking for a quiet household that will be happy to take them for sniffy walks and build their confidence in certain areas. These two are certainly for the daxi lovers!
