About This Dog

This is the hardest post to write and it breaks my heart to even do this but sadly looking for a new home for our Mabel. It would be in the best interest if this home did not have small children. Mabel is a 4 year old miniature dachshund, Isabella tan colour. She was born on 22nd of December 2021. She is upto date with her injections, flea, wormer. She is KC registered with papers, and microchipped. We have owned Mabel for 4 years since she was a pup, and there are a lot of special memories behind Mabel which makes this extremely difficult and I will not let her go unless I know it's the right home. The family for Mabel must be patient and confident dog handlers as she has some little quirks which do take some time to get used to. If you know the breed well you will understand. I will explain in detail over private message. Mabel loves a walk but she will also take the quiet life, she loves to be in the comforts of the bed and lots of cuddles. She would be suited to someone older who wants lots of company, or a family with older children who are not going to make her more anxious and sensible around dogs. Dachshund Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Dachshund.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy without you viewing it first
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Dachshund Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website
  • Seller asks you to send money to a bank account with a different name to the person you have been communicating with
  • The dog/puppy is advertised significantly cheaper than similar listings
