About This Dog

Dixie's ideal home

Dixie is a 6 year old Dachshund ready to find her new home after making her way into our care as a stray. She is suitable to live with secondary school aged children and could also share her home with another Dachshund as seems to prefer her own breed! She will benefit from continued socialisation with other dogs. Although we have no history of Dixie around cats, she does have potential to live with them following a scent swap and gradual introductions in the home where they can be kept separate to begin with.

Dixie's previous home history is unknown, so she'll appreciate guidance with settling into her new home. However, she has been happy jumping into a car and travelled well and we also think she'll be ok to be left alone for a couple hours here and there. Dixie has tried her best with keeping her kennel clean too so should only need a quick housetraining refresher. Toys are her all time favourite, she loves playing tug games with her soft toys.
