About This Dog for Adoption
Georgie's ideal home
Georgie is looking for a loving home where she can feel calm and comfortable. She thrives in peaceful environments and enjoys relaxing in the evenings after a day of gentle activity. Georgie would be happiest in a home with minimal outside noise and limited foot traffic, so she can feel secure and settled.
She could live with older children (secondary school age or above) who can respect her need for a quieter space. While she hasn’t lived with children before, she does best in calm households rather than busy or noisy ones.
Georgie would love a secure, private garden where she can play, explore, and unwind. Her ideal family will be committed to supporting her with ongoing training and guidance, helping her continue to grow in confidence.
Georgie would prefer to be the only dog in the home, unless rehomed with her friend Ruben. She’s had limited social experiences with other dogs, so she feels most comfortable when she’s the centre of attention.
On walks, Georgie can pass other dogs calmly, which is a great foundation to build on.
Could you be Georgie's perfect match?
Meet Georgie – a lovely four-year-old Miniature Dachshund.
Goergie is currently in our care through our Homestay scheme with her friend Ruben, due to their owners' change in circumstances.
Georgie is a sweet and affectionate companion who loves nothing more than snuggling on the sofa and enjoying tasty treats! She’s a big foodie with a special love for dental chews, and she’s wonderfully tactile with people she knows, making her a loyal and loving friend.
Georgie may feel a little unsure in new environments at first, but she quickly relaxes and settles in, showing her gentle and sociable nature. She’s housetrained and generally very good, though she might have the occasional accident if left alone for too long.
She’s used to being left for 5–6 hours most days and can relax comfortably in an open-plan living area. However, she shows how much she misses her people by being very excited when they return, so she’d be happiest in a home where she doesn’t have to spend long periods alone.
Car travel isn’t Georgie’s favourite thing—she rides in the boot and may whine during journeys—but with patience and reassurance, this is something that can improve over time.
