Meet Darcey, a 3-year-old Dachshund. She would love a family who can give her the 2nd chance she deserves. Darcey can get a little anxious at times around dogs, causing some reactivity, so she is looking to be the only dog in the home. She would prefer to live in an area where she can go for quieter dog walks and could have calm dog walking buddies. Darcey is suitable to live with older secondary-aged children who will be calm around her. She would really appreciate being given space from children when out on her adventures and having no young visitors. She has the potential to live with a cat, pending a scent swap. Her ideal home would be quiet and patient, helping her to settle into her new home.

Darcey is a super sweet lady. Even when worried during her assessment here at the centre, she was able to begin building a relationship with one of our staff members. During the short time they spent with her, Darcey sought cuddles of reassurance whilst in the office. Darcey has a little bit of a nervous nature, and we believe this is one of the reasons she struggled in her previous home whilst living with another dog and also why she shows some reactivity to dogs whilst out on walks. She is a gorgeous Dachshund and is true to her breed, so anyone who has been searching for a pretty Dachshund to join them on the sofa and go for quiet walks with them, Darcey is definitely your girl!
