Truffle

1 day

Truffle's ideal home

Teeny tiny Truffle is a quiet and timid little girl who would love to find a quiet home with a family that will help build her confidence. She is a worried lady who will be much better without the hustle and bustle of young children. Older teenagers who will give her time and space would be ok though. Truffle would benefit from living with a confident dog to bring her out of her shell. We don’t know if she’s been around cats before, but as a small shy girl we believe she might be able to. This would need to be in a home able to do very gradual introductions, keeping them separate to begin with.

Could you be Truffle's perfect match?

Truffle is a 3 yr old Miniature Dachshund who came into our care through no fault of her own. We don’t know much about her life before coming to us but she is a worried lady who would love a slow approach. Things like car travel and being left alone are all unknowns at the moment. Truffle will need a helping hand with housetraining, but with a secure garden of her own this process shouldn’t take long! Truffle loves some quiet time with her toys and is going to make a really wonderful, rewarding companion. She just needs someone with patience who will understand that she’s going to need some time and will go at her speed.

Dachshund Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Dachshund.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Dachshund Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
