Elf's ideal home

Elf is a very handsome 10 month old Dachshund looking for his forever home. Elf is a really worried little man, and will need incredibly patient, gentle owners that can help him come out of his shell at his own pace. Elf is able to be rehomed with older secondary school aged children that are able to give him his space when he needs it. It can take a little bit of time to gain Elf's trust, but he loves to sit in your lap for a fuss once you've made friends.
Elf has had such a rubbish start to his life and really needs a bit of stability. He walks nicely on the lead, but does need a help with confidence building in his new home. Elf will thrive in a calm, quiet home that is able to offer him the gentle hand he needs to become the affectionate, playful boy we know he can be.

Could you be Elf's perfect match?

Elf has not been left for long on his own, so this will need building up in his new home - ideally, Elf would like a family that is home most of the time with him. Elf may need a bit of support with his housetraining, but he tries his best to keep his space clean! He likes a little cube of cheese so this will be helpful with any training he needs.
Elf is a good boy and hasn't shown any reactivity towards other dogs, so he would enjoy making confident, calm doggy friends out and about for walks and a good run around.
Elf is quite under-socialised and has had a sheltered start to his life, so would need understanding owners that are willing to put the work in to help this worried lad come out of himself. He will make such a rewarding, wonderful companion!!
