About This Dog

Suzy's ideal home

Sweet girl Suzy is a 6 year old Dachshund cross who loves to roll around on the sofa. She takes a bit of time to warm up to new people, but once she has a bond she will happily sit next to her favourite people on the sofa and nudge them for a fuss. She is not interested in toys, she would prefer to wander and explore in the garden or spend time with her favourite people. This sweet little lass looking for a new home to call her own.

Could you be Suzy's perfect match?

Suzy is looking for a calm and quiet home with minimal visitors. She would like adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures in quieter walking areas and who will take the time to help her settle in at her pace and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She could live with sixth form/college aged children who will understand that she will need time and space to settle in, who will play with her nicely and give her space to rest when needed. Suzy could live with a calm and established dog a similar size to her who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play with her, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre, living with another dog is not a necessity, she would be happy with calm and polite walking buddies of a similar size. Suzy is learning about the world outside, but does have a little training under her belt, she does a lovely “sit”, “paw” and “stay”, once she has had time to settle in she could be enticed to engage in training in short, sweet sessions with the help of a tasty treat. She would like her own private, secure garden to potter around and play in at her leisure. Suzy can be worried being left so is looking for adopters who are home the majority of the time especially to begin with, she could be left for up to 1-2 hours, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle into her new home. Suzy will need to meet her adopters multiple times prior to going home with potential home visits to make sure that she is settling in nicely, so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
