About This Dog for Adoption

Chewie's ideal home

Chewie is a charming two‑year‑old Dachshund with a big personality wrapped in a small body. He can be nervous when settling into new environments and needs a little time to feel safe, but once he trusts you, he becomes a complete cuddle bug who loves nothing more than snuggling up and happily sharing your bed. As his confidence grows, his cheeky side shines through, he turns into a fun, affectionate chap who’ll even help you take your socks off if you let him.
Chewie would like to be the only pet in the home, as he enjoys having his humans’ full attention. He could have regular walking friends, provided introductions are done slowly and at a pace he is comfortable with. Chewie would be best suited to living with sensible children aged 12 and over, who can understand his initial nerves and interact with him gently and respectfully.

Could you be Chewie's perfect match?

He will need to live in a low‑traffic area while he continues building his confidence around roads and passing vehicles. He travels well in the car, is fully housetrained, and can gradually be left alone for short periods as he settles. Chewie is currently learning to sleep downstairs, but one of his favourite parts of the day is joining you in the morning for cuddles.
Chewie is looking for an understanding and patient home, someone who can support him through his worries and enjoy his affectionate, cheeky nature once he feels secure. With love, consistency, and reassurance, he will become a devoted and endearing companion. If you’re searching for a sweet, snuggly little dog with bags of personality, Chewie may be the perfect match.
Chewie has ongoing medical needs, which can be discussed in more detail with potential adopters.
